London - St. Katherine's Docks

In London I stayed with my friend Vivienne and her roommate Katie. Here’s the three of us:

We’re ready to devour a fish and chip meal from The Golden Hind… Not the easiest place to find (and distinctly different from the bar down the street with ‘golden’ in its name where we finally got directions from a jovial, but very drunken, man smoking a cigar). This was definitely the best fish and chips I’ve ever eaten, and not only because it was 10 pm and I was starving.

Vivienne and Katie were lovely hosts with dueling accents, in a fabulous location in St. Katherine’s Docks. The area was originally a hospital for the poor, but it was demolished in the early 19th century to make room for industrial docks and processing plants. Now, though, it is a swanky place to dock your yacht. Check out the photo of the dock area:
